Sofia Vergara’s swimsuit selfie hasn’t come without drama.

Sofia Vergara tends not to garner backlash over her Instagram photos, but not everyone viewing this swimwear selfie appeared impressed. The sitcom star, 51, turned heads as she posted a bikini-clad photo to her feed in December 2022, and while she gained over 1.5 million fan likes, the response was still mixed.

Making sure to feature one of TV’s biggest stars on its social media, a fan account reposted the snap as it shouted Sofia out, and it was here that users in the comments section were lashing out. A fair few accused the Toty sunscreen founder of having undergone plastic surgery, something that Sofia has never admitted to.

Posing in front of a mirror as she flaunted her famous curves, Sofia stunned in a simple black two-piece that showed off her sensational frame.

Not leaving much to the imagination as she highlighted her cleavage and curvy hips, the Modern Family star rocked a plunging neckline via the soft-cupped bikini top, with a matching pair of briefs showcasing her shapely waistline. Sofia used one hand to hold her phone as she posed indoors, keeping glam with her locks down and poker-straight, plus plenty of matte makeup.

Sofia was met with a fairly frosty response. “When a woman has unlimited money and access to top plastic surgeons they can stay younger looking and fit. All it takes is money and power!” one user claimed.

Another told the Netflix star: “It’s called being rich and getting surgery.” In 2023, Sofia spoke with Glamour to set the record straight on whether or not she’s been under the knife. Fully denying having had any procedures, the actress joked: “It’s called f—king I’m old!”

Nonetheless, users seemed convinced that the TV star has had work done. One fan spoke of “Putting fake s— into your body,” with another bluntly calling Vergara “plastic.”

Of the messages she reads online, Sofia told Glamour: “Sometimes I read messages—I avoid reading comments because, for what? It’s usually people that are in a bad mood or depressed or jealous.” The mom of one added: “I read it and it’s like, ‘She has done so much stuff to herself that she doesn’t even look like her anymore.’ And I’m thinking, It’s not like you have plastic surgery to look worse than before, come on!”

Also regularly facing allegations of plastic surgery are celebrities including SKIMS mogul Kim Kardashian and reality face Larsa Pippen.
